Forests: A Psychological Asset
Gwalior | September 29, 2026 - During a National Service Scheme (NSS) leadership and training camp at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Divisional Forest Officer Avadhesh Kumar Meena emphasized the preservation of forests not just as material assets but as invaluable psychological resources.
He stated that forests soothe the human subconscious and provide positive energy, which is extremely important in today's stressful era. The intellectual session, held on the third day of the university-level NSS camp, deeply discussed the profound relationship between nature and human consciousness.
“It is inappropriate to consider forests limited only to revenue or timber,” said Divisional Forest Officer Meena.
The session was conducted under the guidance of Program Coordinator Dr. Harishankar Singh Kansana and moderated by Dr. Hindu Singh Dhakad. Addressing the youth on nation-building and leadership, Jiwaji University Registrar Dr. Rajeev Mishra described NSS as a significant workshop for developing discipline and the spirit of national service among youth.
He also made the students present at the camp aware of the importance of administrative efficiency. On this occasion, Dr. Ravikant Dwivedi explained the Panchakosha theory of Indian philosophy, sharing principles for personality development and self-refinement essential for the holistic growth of young people.
Mindful Technology Use in the Digital Age
Highlighting the challenges of the digital era, Dr. Vasudev Singh Jadon cautioned the youth against merely being consumers of social media. He strongly advocated for the judicious use of technology, transforming it into a powerful medium for nation-building.
At the end of the program, Prof. Hiralal Patel, Dr. Vinod Kushwah, and Dr. Narendra Kumar Verma honored the guests. Dr. Vinod Kushwah expressed gratitude to all attendees. This significant day concluded with messages of discipline and environmental consciousness.
