First Meeting of Tribal Rights Committee Held in Bhopal

The Cliff News | Bhopal | July 30, 2026 The first meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Rights, Protection, and Empowerment Committee, constituted by the All India Congress Committee, was successfully held today at the State Congress office in Bhopal. The crucial session was presided over by the committee's chairman and Leader of the Opposition in the state, Shri Umang Singhar.

Addressing Tribal Challenges and Rights

During the meeting, participants engaged in a thorough discussion on the various challenges currently facing the tribal community. Key issues deliberated included the protection of their constitutional rights, rights over water, forest, and land, as well as matters related to education, health, employment, livelihood, and overall development.

The committee extensively discussed diverse and significant topics pertaining to the social, economic, educational, and constitutional rights of the tribal community. Following a comprehensive deliberation, the committee resolved to formulate an effective and concrete action plan encompassing all these issues. This action plan aims to unite efforts across the state to protect the interests and empower the tribal community.

Congress's Commitment to Rights Protection

On this occasion, the committee chairman, Shri Umang Singhar, stated that the Congress party has always been committed to the rights, dignity, and constitutional protection of the tribal community. He clarified that this committee will study issues related to various regions of the state and present them strongly before the government. He also pledged to continuously strive for the protection of the tribal community's interests.

Resolution for Empowerment Through Coordinated Efforts

The meeting was attended by committee members Shri Vikrant Bhuria, Shri Bala Bachchan, Shri Omkar Singh Markam, Shri Phundelal Marko, Smt. Jhuma Solanki, Shri Sanjay Uike, Shri Sunil Uike, and Dr. Ashok Marskole. All members presented their valuable suggestions and insights.

They resolved to undertake coordinated, effective, and results-oriented initiatives for the protection of the tribal community's rights and their empowerment. The collective aim is to implement strategies that yield tangible improvements in the lives of tribal people.

Solid Strategy to be Formed Through Public Dialogue and Study

It was also decided in the meeting that the committee will gather factual information on various issues concerning the tribal community across the state. This will be achieved through phased public dialogue and in-depth study. The overarching objective of this entire process is to develop a solid and effective strategy for resolving the problems faced by the tribal community, thereby improving their living standards and empowering them.
