Bloody Conflict Over Prime Land Erupts in Hathras Area
The Cliff News | Firozabad | September 17, 2026 In the Hathras police station area of Firozabad district, Uttar Pradesh, a bloody conflict broke out between two factions over the possession of a valuable piece of land. The incident, involving gunfire and physical assault, left four people, including a woman, injured and has instilled a sense of fear in the region.
The dispute centers on approximately 5.16 bigha of land, identified as plot number 195, situated along the highway. The family of the landowner, Suryabhan Singh Rathore, alleges that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rinku Lohari, in collusion with a woman named Sunaina Devi, fraudulently obtained the land deed. The family clarifies that Sunaina Devi is not Suryabhan Singh Rathore's wife but his maternal aunt.
Allegations of Forced Land Grabbing
It is alleged that BJP leader Rinku Lohari arrived at the disputed land with his supporters today with the intention of forcibly taking possession. This led to an argument with the current claimants of the land and their supporters, which quickly escalated into violence. According to villagers, gunfire also occurred during the scuffle, resulting in injuries to four people, including a woman. A video of the incident, showing people fleeing for their lives, is rapidly circulating on social media.
Police Action and Investigation Underway
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and attempted to control the situation. The police have taken BJP leader Rinku Lohari and several others into custody. Superintendent of Police, Abhimanyu Manglik, stated that given the seriousness of the matter, the police are actively investigating. The injured have been rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment. The police will proceed with further legal action based on the evidence gathered.
BJP leader Rinku Lohari, however, has unequivocally denied the allegations of firing.
