MP: Outcry Grows Over New Employees' Salary Deductions; HC Order Ignored, Alleges MP

Salary Cut Controversy Deepens

A dispute has intensified in Madhya Pradesh regarding salary deductions and arrears payment for newly appointed government employees. Pandit Sumitra Shukla, National President of the Bharatiya Brahmin Sanatan Ekta Manch, has strongly condemned the state government's policies, labeling them as exploitative towards employees.

Shukla argues that the system of paying 70, 80, and 90 percent of salary during the first three years of probation infringes upon employee rights. She referenced landmark decisions by the Jabalpur and Indore High Courts, calling the General Administration Department's December 12, 2019, circular discriminatory. The High Court had previously ruled that there is no logical basis for paying lower salaries during probation, reiterating the principle of 'equal pay for equal work'.

Ignoring Court Directives

The Manch alleges that despite clear court instructions, these orders are not being implemented on the ground, violating employees' constitutional rights. They have demanded the immediate repeal of the 2019 'unjust' circular and assurance of 100 percent basic salary for all affected employees.

Arrears Payment Demand and Warning

Pandit Sumitra Shukla insisted that withheld salary arrears from the probation period be paid to employees within 90 days. She warned the state government that if no positive action is taken, the Bharatiya Brahmin Sanatan Ekta Manch will be compelled to launch a widespread agitation to fight for employee rights.
