MP Police Gear Up for Festivals with Major Operations

In anticipation of the upcoming festive season, the Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their efforts to ensure robust law and order and security across the state. Information from the Police Headquarters in Bhopal indicates that recent operations have included widespread combing patrols, the apprehension of absconders and warrant holders, thorough checks on known criminals, actions against illegal activities, and effective drills for riot control and disaster management.

This multi-faceted campaign is a significant step towards guaranteeing peace and security during the festivals. The primary objective is to curb the activities of criminals and anti-social elements, thereby strengthening the sense of security among the general public. A special focus has been placed on arresting individuals wanted in old cases, particularly those with standing warrants and arrest warrants.

Moreover, stringent action is being taken against known troublemakers and monitored individuals who may be involved in criminal activities. This proactive approach aims to deter potential offenders and reassure citizens.

Extensive Operations Across Key Districts

Prominent districts like Indore, Katni, Datia, Damoh, Khargone, Morena, and Gwalior have actively participated in these widespread police operations. These campaigns have resulted in the significant arrest of numerous warrant holders and habitual offenders.

In Indore, at Dwarkapuri police station, Zone-4 police summoned monitored criminals for a parade ahead of the festivals. During this, their dossiers were updated, they were made to pledge to refrain from criminal activities, and necessary notices were served.

Katni Police apprehended 182 accused during night combing patrols, including 20 with standing warrants and 69 with arrest warrants. Additionally, 42 known criminals and 44 monitored individuals were checked. The execution of 37 bailable warrants and 51 summons further highlighted their efficiency.

Datia Police conducted intensive combing patrols across the district at midnight to apprehend absconding warrant holders and criminals. This operation led to the arrest of 7 individuals with standing warrants and the execution of 53 arrest warrants, demonstrating the police's capability to act anytime, anywhere.

Furthermore, 65 history-sheeters and 90 known criminals underwent thorough checks, creating an atmosphere of fear among anti-social elements. In Damoh district, intensive combing patrols were simultaneously carried out in all police stations. This operation resulted in the arrest of 58 warrant holders, including 22 with standing warrants and 36 with arrest warrants.

The police also served 1 standing warrant and 8 arrest warrants related to maintenance cases, underscoring their efforts towards ensuring family justice. Checks were conducted on 57 known criminals and 27 monitored individuals. Cases were registered for 29 instances of illicit liquor, 3 of gambling/betting, and 1 of illegal weapons, showing the police's keen eye on various crimes.

Preventive actions were also taken against anti-social elements to maintain social harmony. Khargone Police conducted effective combing patrols in all police station and outpost areas from midnight to 5 AM, arresting 83 individuals with arrest warrants, 15 with standing warrants, and 2 wanted accused. This high number indicates a significant number of wanted criminals in the district, successfully apprehended by the police.

Surprise checks were also conducted at the homes of 99 listed criminals and 56 monitored individuals. Station house officers inspected lock-ups and conducted regional surveillance, symbolizing the vigilance in maintaining order.

Morena District Police, under the guidance of senior officers, conducted special combing patrols. This overnight operation led to the apprehension of approximately 281 individuals wanted in various criminal cases, including those with standing and arrest warrants. This substantial figure reflects the law and order situation in Morena but also highlights the police's active role.

Additionally, 69 history-sheeters/known criminals and 21 externed individuals were checked to monitor their activities. In Gwalior district, extensive combing patrols were carried out in both city and rural areas, resulting in the arrest of 203 absconding warrant holders in various criminal cases, including 104 with standing warrants and 99 with arrest warrants. This figure showcases the police's wide reach and operational efficiency in the Gwalior region.

During the combing patrols, cases related to illicit liquor, gambling, and weapons were registered, and cannabis was seized. Furthermore, intensive checks were conducted on suspicious vehicles, hotels, lodges, and sensitive areas to monitor any suspicious activities and prevent untoward incidents.

Disaster Management and Riot Control Drills

To bolster law and order preparedness, a special riot control drill was organized at the Vidisha Police Line. In this mock drill, police personnel practiced responding to various scenarios, including crowd control, anti-riot operations, the use of tear gas and water cannons, barricading, first aid, and disaster management. This exercise ensures the police force can effectively respond to emergency situations.

During the drill, police officers demonstrated excellent restraint, discipline, quick decision-making abilities, and mutual coordination, showcasing their professional competence. This exercise is crucial for maintaining order during potentially crowded events during the upcoming festivals.
