Gangster Act Invoked in Property Seizure

The Farrukhabad District Administration has taken significant action against Sandeep Dubey, a close aide of the notorious mafia figure Anupam Dubey, by attaching his property worth Rs 43.28 lakhs under the Gangster Act. The order was issued under the directives of District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Launther.

A joint team comprising Naib Tehsildar Hardeep Singh, Mau Darwaza Station House Officer Ajab Singh, and revenue department officials, accompanied by police force, carried out the attachment process on Tuesday afternoon. The identified properties included two plots located in Vikasnagar and Garhi Ashraf Ali within the Badhpur area.

Details of Attached Property

According to official information, the plot in Vikasnagar has been valued at Rs 22.04 lakhs, while the plot in Garhi Ashraf Ali is estimated to be worth Rs 21.26 lakhs. During the operation, the Mau Darwaza Station House Officer informed the residents present about the attachment proceedings via loudspeaker. Informative boards were also erected on the attached properties.

Background of the Action

This administrative action is linked to an FIR registered at the City Kotwali police station on November 13, 2021. At that time, a case was filed under the Gangster Act against Anupam Dubey, Anurag Dubey, Abhishek Rastogi, and others.

During a recent investigation on August 9, 2026, the Mau Darwaza police identified Sandeep Dubey as an active member of Anupam Dubey's gang. Based on this evidence, the property attachment was executed as per the District Magistrate's orders.

Family's Claims and Police Stance

During the property seizure, Sandeep Dubey's relative, Ashish Dubey, claimed before the administrative team that these properties were ancestral inheritances received by the brothers after their father's demise. In response, the Station House Officer clarified that if any party possesses valid evidence to prove ownership, they can present their case in the District Magistrate's court.

Currently, the administrative team has completed all the necessary formalities for the attachment as per departmental orders. Revenue officials have demarcated the properties and taken them under government control. The police administration has stated that this campaign against properties linked to organized crime will continue in the future, aiming to weaken the financial networks of criminals.
