Farrukhabad | September 21, 2026 - District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar chaired a crucial review meeting concerning the repair of roads damaged during the flood and monsoon seasons and making them pothole-free. Senior officials from key departments including the Public Works Department, Zila Panchayat, Mandi Parishad, Rural Engineering Department, and the National Highways Authority were present.

Immediate Inspections and Prioritization

During the meeting, the District Magistrate instructed all concerned departmental heads to conduct immediate on-site inspections of roads within their respective jurisdictions. Following the inspection, damage assessments must be accurately conducted, and affected roads identified on a priority basis. Based on this assessment, a detailed action plan is to be prepared and submitted to the government within a stipulated timeframe.

Budget Allocation and Quality Standards

The District Magistrate clarified that as soon as the budget for repair work is allocated by the government, the road repair work should commence promptly. He emphasized maintaining the highest standards of quality in construction work and strictly instructed officials to ensure regular monitoring in this regard. Facilitating smooth and safe passage for the public is the administration's top priority, and any negligence in this direction will not be tolerated.

Coordination and Public Convenience

Relevant departments were directed to establish mutual coordination and work effectively to ensure swift approval of proposals and timely completion of repair work. This step, taken in view of the dilapidated condition of roads post-monsoon, is aimed at considering the convenience and safety of the general public. Officials must ensure that all repair works are completed within the specified deadlines, so citizens do not face any inconvenience in commuting. Complete transparency and strict adherence to prescribed standards will be maintained throughout this process.
