The entire atmosphere became devotional with the installation of Ganesh idols at approximately two hundred and fifty locations throughout the city. This continuous process of idol installation, from homes to public pandals, persisted from morning until late evening.
Idol Installations and Festivities Begin
Devotees, who had been engaged in preparations for days, carefully placed the idols of Lord Ganesha at their designated spots during the auspicious timings. The puja sites were specially decorated prior to the idol installations.
A significant surge of enthusiasm was observed among devotees upon the arrival of the Ganpati idols. In many places, idols were brought to the pandals accompanied by the beats of drums, and were installed amidst the resounding cheers of 'Ganpati Bappa Morya'.
Home and Public Pandals Adorned for Worship
In numerous neighborhoods across the city, a large number of people installed Lord Ganesha idols in their homes. Family members gathered for collective prayers and worship, with enthusiasm for Ganesh Utsav visible from children to the elderly.
Devotees offered Durva grass, flowers, modaks, and various types of offerings to Lord Ganesha. The Ganesh pandals set up at public places were beautifully adorned with colorful streamers, flowers, and attractive lights.
Rituals and Evening Gatherings
Following the idol installations, elaborate pujas and aartis were conducted. As evening approached, crowds of devotees began gathering at these pandals.
The process of transporting idols to homes and pandals commenced early Monday morning. Devotees could be seen carrying idols via tractor-trolleys, e-rickshaws, and other vehicles on the main thoroughfares.
Regular pujas, aartis, and various religious programs will be organized in the pandals in the coming days. With the installation of a large number of Ganpati idols across the city, the entire environment has become infused with the spirit of Ganesh Chaturthi.
