Food Safety Department Cracks Down on Adulteration in Bhind

Acting on the directives of Collector Pawan Kumar Jain, the Food Safety Department in Bhind district has launched a significant crackdown against adulteration in milk and dairy products. A dairy in the village of Masuri within the tehsil region was found to be producing adulterated 'mawa' using a mixture of refined palmoline oil and vegetable fat.

Responding to a tip-off, the department's team seized one quintal of adulterated 'mawa' and approximately 30 kilograms of the oil-vegetable mixture from the premises. Food Safety Officer Rekha Soni confirmed that rapid kit testing at the scene revealed the 'mawa' to be adulterated.

Consequently, the license of dairy operator Sandeep Singh Bhadauria was immediately suspended. The seized adulterated 'mawa' has been sent to a cold storage facility for safekeeping.

Campaign Extended to Urban Areas, Samples Collected

The Food Safety Department has also extended this campaign to the urban areas of the district. Inspections were conducted at Vinod Dairy on Gauri Road and Anuradha Dairy in Kirar Colony. Samples of various food products, including paneer, milk, ghee, and sapatrata dahi (set curd), were collected from these locations.

These collected samples have been sent to the laboratory for comprehensive testing. The operation involved Food Safety Officer Rekha Soni, along with Kiran Sanger, Reena Bansal, and lab chemist Aarti Shivhare. Department officials stated that strict legal action will be taken against any traders found guilty once the laboratory reports are received.

Administration Issues Warning, Seeks Public Cooperation

The administration has issued a stern warning that those who jeopardize public health will not be spared under any circumstances. Emphasizing the continuation of this anti-adulteration drive, the department has appealed to citizens for their cooperation.

Citizens are urged to report any suspicious activities or instances of adulteration to the authorities promptly, enabling effective action against such unscrupulous traders. The department has affirmed its commitment to conducting continuous inspections.
