Balrampur Meeting Highlights Key Employee Demands

Balrampur | July 31, 2026 - A crucial meeting of the State Employees Joint Council was held in Balrampur, where significant employee-related issues were discussed in detail. The meeting took place at the Irrigation Department's association building.

During the special session, strong emphasis was placed on the restoration of the old pension scheme, the formation and prompt implementation of the Eighth Pay Commission, initiating transparent recruitment for vacant posts across government departments, and the swift settlement of pending employee payments. The meeting was presided over and conducted by District President Tularam Giri, with Divisional President of the State Employees Joint Council, Dilip Chauhan, attending as the chief guest. Council officials and members expressed their expectation for immediate government action on these demands.

Core Demands of the Employees Joint Council

The employees underscored the necessity of reinstating the old pension scheme, a topic that has been under discussion for years. Furthermore, the formation of the Eighth Pay Commission and the rapid implementation of its proposed recommendations were prominently put forward. Employees believe that vacant positions in government departments should be filled through a transparent and fair recruitment process to address workforce shortages and provide employment opportunities for youth.

Concerns were also raised regarding the delays in settling pending dues, and the government was urged to address these payments on a priority basis. The council also called for the speedy resolution of pending payments owed to employees.

Call for Unity and Struggle

In his address, chief guest Dilip Chauhan stated that the State Employees Joint Council, Uttar Pradesh, is fully committed to safeguarding the interests of employees. He urged other employee and teacher organizations to unite and collectively struggle for their legitimate demands through democratic and constitutional means.

Chauhan motivated employees to further strengthen the organization to ensure their voice is heard effectively. Representatives and officials from various employee organizations were present, including District President of the Specific BTC Teacher Association, Dharmendra Kumar Shukla, Engineers Ashish Kumar and Virendra Pal, along with Rakesh Pratap Singh, Vinod Chauhan, Shiva Kant Tripathi, and Prahlad Kumar.

At the conclusion of the meeting, District President Tularam Giri expressed his gratitude to all attendees and reiterated the commitment to continue the ongoing struggle for employee welfare.
