Elderly Woman Appeals Against Land Encroachment in Aaron

The Cliff News | Aaron | November 3, 2026

An elderly woman, Shantibai, wife of Ratna Sahariya, from Anartpura village in the Aaron police station area of Guna district, approached the Collectorate's public hearing seeking justice against illegal encroachment on her allotted land (pattaland).

The elderly woman alleges that some influential people from the village have been occupying her allocated land for the past fifteen years. She further stated that they threaten to kill her if she attempts to cultivate the land.

Allegations of Illegal Occupation by Influential Individuals

In her written application submitted to the district administration, Shantibai stated that her family was allotted land in Survey Number 122 of Anartpura village by the government. However, individuals named Nannu, son of Shibua, Banwari Lal, and Rambabu, sons of Mishrilal Ahirwar, have forcibly occupied this land for the past decade and a half.

According to the elderly woman, whenever her family goes to cultivate or look after their allotted land, these influential individuals become aggressive and threaten them with dire consequences. The victimized family, having no other source of income, is on the verge of starvation.

Demand for Immediate Action from Administration

During the public hearing, the victimized family informed the administration that they depend on this land for their livelihood. Therefore, they have demanded immediate intervention from the administration to remove the illegal occupation from the pattaland in Survey Number 122, so they can resume cultivation on their land.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, the administration has assured appropriate action.
