Elderly Man Critically Injured in Attack During Religious Gathering

Guna: A chilling incident unfolded in Gram Dudhai, under the Cant Police Station area of Guna district, on Saturday afternoon. Harisingh Yadav, a 60-year-old resident, was listening to a Srimad Bhagwat Katha at his home when he was attacked by over half a dozen individuals wielding sickles and axes, allegedly due to an old enmity.

Brutal Assault Over Old Grudge

The attack occurred around 2 PM. According to reports, the assailants arrived and began to verbally abuse Yadav over a pre-existing dispute. When the elderly man protested, the situation escalated, and a group of eight to ten armed individuals converged on the scene. They then proceeded to strike Yadav repeatedly on the head with sickles and axes, inflicting severe injuries.

Victim Critical, Hospitalized

The victim was rushed to the District Hospital by his family, where doctors have begun immediate treatment. His condition is reported as critical. Harisingh Yadav stated that the attackers had threatened to kill him about fifteen days prior and that the current assault stemmed from this ongoing animosity.

Police Investigation Underway

Cant Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend all the accused. Police officials have assured that swift legal action will be taken against those responsible. The village remains under a pall of fear following the violent attack.
