Anti-Drug Campaign Held at Maner School

Patna, August 6, 2026 – A crucial anti-drug program was organized on Thursday at the PM Shri Higher Secondary School in Maner, Patna district. The event was held under the '10 Crore Drug-Free Pledge Maha Abhiyan', an initiative spearheaded by the Prajapati Brahmakumari Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya, Patna.

Students, teachers, and non-teaching staff of the school attended the ceremony in large numbers. This nationwide campaign is being celebrated across India from August 6 to August 20, 2026.

Impact of Drug Abuse Highlighted

During the program, three sisters from the Brahmakumari society – Sujata, Aarohi, and Rani – shed light on the severe consequences of drug abuse. They inspired the attendees to contribute to building a drug-free India and administered a pledge to abstain from drugs.

The sisters elaborated on the negative impacts of substance abuse on individual lives, families, and society. They emphasized the critical need for collective action in eradicating this menace.

Scientific Perspective on Drug Effects

Mr. Wilfrid Henry, a senior science teacher at the school and a recipient of the 2025 State Teacher Award, presented a detailed account of the physical and mental effects of drugs from a scientific standpoint. He explained how addiction severely impacts not only an individual's health but also disrupts the peace and harmony of families and communities.

"Today, it is extremely essential that we all collectively play our role in building a drug-free India," said Mr. Henry.

He motivated the students with slogans such as "Quit Drugs, Connect Lives" and "Healthy Youth, Strong India," which resonated with the audience, filling the auditorium with applause.

The program saw active participation from the school's Principal, Dr. Ram Ratan Prasad, teacher leader Dr. Sanjay Kumar, and all other faculty members. Mr. Wilfrid Henry was also presented with a certificate by the Brahmakumari society for his contribution to the success of this anti-drug campaign.
