The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Bareilly has formed its new executive committee for the 2026-27 term. Dr. Himanshu Agarwal emerged victorious in a closely contested election for the president's post. The final results of the voting process, which concluded on Sunday, were announced late Sunday night, with Dr. Agarwal defeating his rival, Dr. R.K. Bhaskar.
The election process, overseen by the election committee chairman Dr. Vimal Kumar Bhardwaj, was conducted peacefully. This electoral process saw the selection of office bearers for various key positions within the association.
Key Positions Filled and Uncontested Elections
In addition to the presidential race, Dr. Anshu Agarwal and Dr. Shalini Maheshwari were declared elected for the two vice-president positions. Dr. Veer Mahendra Pal Singh Gangwar had also vied for this post. Meanwhile, Dr. Rajveer Singh Gangwar secured the treasurer position by defeating Dr. Kamendra Singh.
Several other important posts within the association were filled through uncontested elections. Consequently, Dr. Mohit Agarwal was chosen as the honorary secretary. Dr. Ritu Rajiv was elected as a member of the Hospital Advisory Committee, and Dr. Mayank Kumar Gupta was elected as the Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Furthermore, candidates for various positions on the executive committee and state council were selected without opposition. Voting concluded at 5 PM on Sunday, after which vote counting commenced.
A wave of joy swept through the supporters of the newly elected officials upon the announcement of the results. This newly formed executive team will manage the Bareilly branch until 2026-27 and will lead various initiatives related to the medical field. The election committee distributed certificates to the winning candidates and extended best wishes for the future. The new team will officially take charge soon and begin working towards implementing their upcoming action plans.
