Dr. Anand Ojha Joins Congress in Uttar Pradesh
Dr. Anand Ojha, former Director of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, formally joined the Congress party at a ceremony held at the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters on September 14, 2026. This move is expected to significantly strengthen the party in the state, particularly on issues of public health and social justice.
During the event, Dr. Ojha expressed his deep faith in the party's top leadership, including Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi. He joined the party in the presence of State Congress President Ajay Rai and former minister Rakesh Rathore. Ajay Rai formally welcomed Dr. Ojha by presenting him with a Tricolor sash.
Health Sector Experience to Benefit Party
Dr. Anand Ojha is a seasoned professional from the medical field. Throughout his service, he efficiently held key positions such as Chief Medical Officer and Chief Superintendent in various districts of the state.
State President Ajay Rai expressed confidence that Dr. Ojha's extensive experience will be a considerable asset to the party. He stated that Dr. Ojha's inclusion in the Congress will infuse new energy and direction into the party's ongoing efforts related to public health, medical care, and social justice.
Several other senior Congress officials and workers, including Surendra Yadav, Vice Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee's Ideology Department, Rakesh Kumar Srivastava, and Dayanand Tiwari, were also present at this important occasion.
