District Magistrate Conducts On-Site Inspection of Flood-Affected Areas

Farrukhabad | August 5, 2026: Farrukhabad District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Launther today conducted a thorough inspection of relief and rescue operations being carried out by the district administration in the flood-affected regions of Amritpur tehsil.

He instructed officials to ensure that relief materials are delivered to every affected family in a timely and transparent manner, without discrimination. He emphasized that no needy individual should be deprived of essential assistance.

Comprehensive Assessment of Relief Operations

The District Magistrate personally visited the flood-affected village of Teess Ram Ki Maddaiya by boat to assess the progress of relief and rescue efforts. He sought detailed information on relief camps, food distribution, drinking water, medical facilities, sanitation, and the availability of fodder for livestock.

Officials were directed to maintain continuous monitoring of the affected areas and ensure the distribution of relief materials as needed. Health department teams were also instructed to conduct regular visits and provide necessary medical services.

Special Health and Educational Arrangements for Flood Victims

The District Magistrate directed the Chief Medical Officer to conduct regular health check-ups in flood-affected areas. Specifically, deworming medication, antibiotics, vitamins, and dermatological medicines are to be distributed mandatorily during the health check-ups for children.

Additionally, essential medicines such as chlorine, rehydration salts, antifungal medications, and anti-venom were to be ensured for the villagers. To prevent disruption to children's education, the District Magistrate ordered the Basic Block Education Officer to deploy teachers in flood-affected villages and at shelter sites.

He also stressed the need for regular spraying of bleaching powder and insecticides in villages to prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases. All necessary resources are to be kept readily available to tackle any emergency situation.

Emphasis on Quality Facilities at Shelter Sites

Subsequently, the District Magistrate inspected the shelter site established for flood victims at the Ram Niwas College's Avadh Institute of Pharmacy building in the Rajepur development block of Amritpur tehsil. Here, he reviewed the arrangements being provided to the displaced individuals and directed the concerned officials to ensure all necessary facilities are provided with high quality.

During the inspection, he meticulously examined the arrangements for food, drinking water, electricity, clean toilets, sanitation, medical facilities, availability of medicines, and specifically those made for children and women. Officials were instructed to address the needs of every individual residing at the shelter with sensitivity and ensure they face no inconvenience.

The District Magistrate engaged directly with the flood victims staying at the shelter to understand their problems and requirements. He assured them of the district administration's full commitment to their safety and relief. He clarified that all affected families would continue to receive adequate relief and necessary facilities as per the government's intention until the flood situation normalizes.

Focus on Livestock Health and Vaccination

Special attention was also directed towards the protection and health examination of livestock at the shelter site. The District Magistrate instructed officials to ensure the safety of the animals alongside the displaced people.

Regular health check-ups, treatment, and vaccination of animals are to be ensured. He also reiterated instructions to the Basic Education Officer regarding the deployment of teachers for children. He placed particular emphasis on the continuous monitoring of relief efforts and maintaining the effectiveness and orderliness of all arrangements.

Present during the inspection were Superintendent of Police Mrs. Aarti Singh, Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Arun Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Amritpur Sweta Sahu, Naib Tehsildar Abhishek, Block Development Officer Sunil Jaiswal, and officials and employees from the Revenue, Health, Police, and other departments.
