Global Recognition for 'Distance from Drugs 2.0' Campaign

The 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign, led by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and guided by Director General of Police Shri Kailash Makwana, has achieved international recognition. This participatory campaign, aimed at creating a drug-free society, has evolved into a significant social movement, especially in the Barwani and Burhanpur districts due to unprecedented student involvement.

Innovative initiatives undertaken as part of this campaign have been registered with the World Book of Records, London, bringing pride to the state on a global stage. In Barwani, the police organized drawing and slogan-writing competitions in various government and private schools on the theme of drug de-addiction. Students created over 16,700 drawings and slogans raising awareness about the ill effects of drug abuse, earning the Barwani police a place in the World Book of Records.

At a ceremony in Bawanagaja, a team from the World Book of Records presented a medal and certificate to Superintendent of Police Shri Padmalochan Shukla. In a similar vein, Burhanpur police demonstrated remarkable community participation. More than 32,000 students from 113 schools in the district collectively signed messages and pledged to stay away from drugs and create awareness about this menace.

Documentation, photographs, videos, and other evidence for registering this collective effort as a world record with the World Book of Records, London, have been submitted for verification. This initiative highlights how significant social change can be achieved by engaging youth. The activities in both districts showcased students' creativity and commitment against drugs, sending a positive message to society.

This participation confirms that the de-addiction campaign is not merely a law and order issue but a public movement rooted in social consciousness, community involvement, and the active role of youth. Madhya Pradesh Police believes that the most effective fight against drug abuse can be won through public awareness, community participation, and the positive involvement of young people.

'Distance from Drugs 2.0': A Multifaceted Campaign

Under the 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign, Madhya Pradesh Police are working at various levels to promote drug de-addiction. This includes administering de-addiction pledges, organizing public awareness rallies, conducting sports and cultural events, drawing and essay competitions, and dialogue programs. Alongside these creative and educational initiatives, effective action against the illegal drug trade continues.

The campaign aims to alert every section of society about the consequences of drug abuse and inspire them to stay away from this evil. Madhya Pradesh Police urges the state's residents to actively participate in this public movement against drugs. They are encouraged to make youth aware of the ill effects of drug abuse and contribute to making society drug-free.

Information regarding any illegal drug trade or suspicious activity is requested to be immediately reported to the police for timely action to protect society from this serious threat.
