Cooperation Minister Stresses 'Mission Mode' for Moong Procurement to Banking

Cooperation Minister Reviews Key Schemes, Directs 'Mission Mode' Implementation

Bhopal | July 31, 2026: Madhya Pradesh Cooperation Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang conducted a comprehensive review of various schemes with senior department officials at the secretariat on Friday. The meeting focused on the state's moong and urad procurement system, strengthening the cooperative banking network, progress of Chief Minister Jan-Kalyan schemes, and advancing the 'Sahkarita mein Sahkar' campaign in a 'mission mode'.

Minister Sarang instructed officials to ensure the implementation of all schemes with utmost promptness and efficiency to maximize benefits for farmers and cooperative institutions. He specifically emphasized preventing any inconvenience to farmers at procurement centers.

Ensuring Smooth Moong and Urad Procurement

Clear directives were issued to ensure all necessary arrangements for moong and urad procurement are in place on time. Sufficient gunny bags (bardana) must be made available for urad procurement to facilitate a smooth process without any obstacles. Efforts will be made to ensure farmers receive fair prices for their produce and face no difficulties.

Addressing Storage Challenges with Alternative Arrangements

To prevent warehouse shortages from hindering procurement, Minister Sarang stressed the need for alternative storage arrangements. Where warehouses are scarce or full, immediate alternative measures should be implemented. Instructions were given to utilize inter-district warehouses if necessary, ensuring timely and secure storage of farmers' produce.

This step will also aid in the swift lifting of produce post-procurement, preventing farmers from having to wait for their crops.

Boosting Rural Banking with Micro ATMs and Attractive Interest Schemes

With the objective of expanding banking facilities in rural areas, Minister Sarang prioritized the availability of micro ATMs in milk cooperative societies. He directed the setting of targets for phased distribution of micro ATMs to these societies. Additionally, nodal officers are to be appointed in all cooperative banks, attractive interest schemes for deposits are to be formulated, and all cooperative society bank accounts are to be mandatorily operated through cooperative banks.

Shri Sarang also emphasized motivating society members to engage in more financial transactions through cooperative banking, making these services more accessible and effective.

Empowering Cooperative Institutions by Increasing Participation in NCDC Schemes

Instructions were also given to ensure active participation of the Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Bank in the schemes of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC). Minister Sarang stated that these schemes will provide financial assistance and other opportunities to cooperative institutions, enhancing their capacity and enabling greater contribution to rural economic development.

Effective utilization of NCDC schemes can open new avenues for the cooperative sector.

Weekly Review of 'Sahkarita mein Sahkar' Campaign

Reviewing the progress of the Chief Minister Jan-Kalyan scheme and the 'Sahkarita mein Sahkar' campaign, Minister Sarang particularly emphasized operating these campaigns in a 'mission mode'. He directed that these campaigns be reviewed regularly every week and target-oriented action be ensured. This will ensure that these important initiatives are pursued diligently and meet their objectives within the stipulated timelines.

Cluster Development and Swift Resolution of Pending Permissions

Instructions were also given to accelerate cluster-based development schemes, including milk production and handicrafts. Minister Sarang stressed the speedy resolution of all pending permissions for the agricultural and plantation year and expediting development work. These initiatives will boost economic activities in rural areas and create local employment opportunities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Shri Sarang described cooperation as a powerful medium for rural prosperity and the overall development of the state. He urged officials to focus on the effective, transparent, and timely implementation of schemes.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Cooperation Shri D.P. Ahuja, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation (Markfed) Shri Abhijit Agarwal, and other senior officials of the department.
