Information Hub for PM Surya Ghar Scheme Launched

The Central Region Power Distribution Company is organizing a special 'Seva Setu' camp on October 6 at Bhopal's Ravindra Bhavan. The event aims to offer electricity consumers detailed information about the Prime Minister's Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme in one convenient location.

The camp will operate from 10 AM to 4 PM. Its primary objective is to educate citizens about the various processes involved in installing rooftop solar plants. Consumers will receive information on registration, application procedures, subsidy provisions, and available bank loans for solar plant installation.

Guidance on plant costs and installation through authorized vendors will also be available. Solar working models and displays will be set up to explain the functioning of net metering.

Subsidy and Loan Guidance Available

Under the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, subsidies are set at ₹30,000 for a 1 kW solar plant, ₹60,000 for a 2 kW plant, and up to a maximum of ₹78,000 for plants with a capacity of 3 kW or more.

Representatives from various banks will be present at the camp to explain the loan acquisition process for solar plants to consumers. New and Renewable Energy Minister Rakesh Shukla will formally inaugurate this 'Seva Setu' camp. Energy Minister Pradyumn Singh Tomar will join the event virtually.

Bank officials and authorized rooftop solar vendors will set up stalls to address consumer queries and assist in understanding each step of the process. B.B.S. Parihar, Chief General Manager of the Central Region Power Distribution Company, stated that the camp's main goal is to ensure the scheme reaches consumers. Company Managing Director Rishi Garg has appealed to all electricity consumers to participate in this significant camp, calling it a vital step towards promoting clean energy and saving on electricity bills by installing rooftop solar plants.

This camp presents an excellent opportunity for consumers to obtain technical and financial information.
