Bhopal: Two Arrested for Assaulting and Robbing Auto Driver, Vehicle Worth Lakhs Recovered
Bhopal Police apprehended two youths for assaulting and robbing an auto driver, recovering a vehicle valued at approximately two lakh rupees.

Auto Driver Assaulted, Robbed in Ayodhyanagar; Two Arrested
Bhopal's Ayodhyanagar police have cracked a robbery case involving an auto driver, arresting two young men in connection with the incident. The crime occurred late on the night of October 3rd, when the accused allegedly assaulted the driver before fleeing with his vehicle.
The victim, auto driver Arman, a resident of Abbas Nagar, was reportedly taking a fare from the Arbaaz Nagar area when the perpetrators targeted him. Upon reaching a secluded spot, they allegedly beat him and forced him out of the auto before making their escape.
Suspect Vehicle Leads to Arrests
Upon receiving information about the crime, the police quickly initiated a search for the accused. A suspicious auto was found parked by the roadside on the road leading from Bilkhiria towards Kudawal. The accused were reportedly attempting to start the vehicle, having run out of CNG fuel, and were using the darkness to their advantage.
The police swiftly cordoned off the area and apprehended the two suspects at the scene. The arrested individuals have been identified as Sumit and Sumit Ujjainwal. In initial interrogations, they have confessed to their involvement in the robbery.
Confession and Recovery
The arrested duo revealed their plan to sell the stolen auto in the Ashok Nagar area. The police have recovered the auto, with registration number MP 04 ZP 2036, and a mobile phone from the accused. The total value of the seized property is estimated to be around two lakh rupees.
After registering the case, the police presented both accused in court, where they were remanded to judicial custody. The police have advised local auto and cab drivers to exercise greater caution in secluded areas during nighttime. They have urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police to effectively curb such criminal incidents.
