Bhopal Municipal Corporation Intensifies Enforcement Against Polluters

The Bhopal Municipal Corporation has escalated its actions against entities causing filth and pollution within the city. During a late-night operation, the municipal team levied fines totaling over ₹29,000 on various rule violators.

The crackdown targeted establishments found guilty of scattering construction debris on roads, spreading filth from construction sites, and generating pollution by operating coal-fired tandoors. This drive is being conducted under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Sanskriti Jain, with the objective of improving the city's sanitation system.

Fines Issued for Construction Site Negligence

In the vicinity of Raj Bhavan, near K.N. Pradhan Square, the municipal squad apprehended three tractor-trolleys dumping construction and demolition (C&D) waste onto the main road during their nightly patrol. Immediate action was taken against these trolleys, resulting in a spot fine of ₹8,000 collected from the supervisor of the concerned entity, Raj Mangal Company.

Furthermore, in the RBI Colony area of Zone No. 21, municipal staff inspected ongoing construction work following complaints about soil and dirt being spread onto the roads by dumpers and trucks. The contractor of the concerned RBI project was fined ₹10,000, and his employees were made to clear the accumulated filth, ensuring that construction activities do not compromise city cleanliness.

Restaurants Fined for Air Pollution

In a separate action in MP Nagar Zone-1, the municipal team fined Milan Restaurant ₹10,000 for causing air pollution by operating a coal-fired tandoor. This action by Zone No. 12 staff highlights the corporation's strict stance against establishments contributing to noise and air pollution.

Penalties for Littering at GVP Point

The municipal squad also conducted an anti-encroachment drive at GVP Point. During this operation, spot fines totaling ₹1,100 were collected from seven individuals caught littering at the site. Such actions aim to curb the tendency of dumping garbage in public spaces.

Municipal Commissioner Mrs. Sanskriti Jain has stated that strict enforcement measures like these will continue to ensure the city remains clean and pollution-free.
