Bhopal Metro: Trains Now Every 15 Minutes on Sundays, Extended Operations on Holidays
Bhopal Metro services have become more convenient for residents of the capital city. The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has implemented significant changes to the metro's operational schedule, prioritizing passenger convenience.
According to these changes, passengers will no longer have to wait long for the metro on Sundays, as trains will now be available every 15 minutes. Additionally, the metro's operating hours will be extended by one hour on all public holidays. This decision by MPMRCL will provide significant relief, particularly to working professionals, students, traders, and late-evening travelers.
Passengers have long been demanding an increase in metro services on Sundays and other holidays.
Improved Connectivity Between Subhash Nagar and AIIMS
Currently, Bhopal Metro operates between Subhash Nagar and AIIMS stations. Under the new schedule, regular services between these two stations have been further streamlined.
The last metro trip from Subhash Nagar station to AIIMS station will depart at 7:30 PM, while the final metro from AIIMS station to Subhash Nagar will depart at 8:00 PM. Metro trains will complete their journey in approximately 30 minutes in both directions.
Smooth Operations Facilitated by Signalling System
Recently, MPMRCL successfully commissioned the metro's signalling system. With the activation of this system, regular metro operations have commenced on both tracks.
The implementation of the signalling system ensures better coordination and punctuality in train operations. The commencement of regular operations on both tracks will not only offer greater convenience to passengers but also bolster the prospects of increasing the number of metro runs in the future.
Passengers to Benefit Specially on Sundays and Holidays
The most significant benefit of the new operating schedule will be observed on Sundays and public holidays. During these days, people often travel with family, shop, or engage in recreational activities.
At such times, the increased availability of the metro will further strengthen the public transportation system. Officials state that operational arrangements will continue to be modified as needed from time to time to accommodate the growing number of passengers and their requirements.
Bhopal Metro is considered an integral part of the capital's public transportation system. With an improved timetable, regular operations, and future expansion plans, the metro will play a crucial role in alleviating the city's growing traffic pressure. This new system will not only save passengers time but also offer them a safe and comfortable travel option.
