Bhind Empowers Women: 40 Girls Receive Learning Driving Licenses

'Pink Driving License Drive' Successfully Held in Bhind

Under Madhya Pradesh government's 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' scheme and the 'District Hub for Empowerment of Women,' a 'Pink Driving License Drive' was successfully organized at Government Gandhi College, Mihona, in the Bhind district. The primary objective of this initiative is to foster women's empowerment and enable girls to become self-reliant.

As part of this campaign, learning driving licenses were immediately processed and provided to over 40 girls. The event was jointly organized by the Women and Child Development Department and the District Transport Department, with attendance from officials of various departments and college staff.

Empowering Girls Through Driving Licenses

Ajay Saxena, Child Protection Officer, stated that the Pink License Drive, as per the directives of the Madhya Pradesh government's Women and Child Development Department, is a significant step towards empowering women. He clarified that driving licenses are entirely free for girls and women, with no fees charged at any level.

Over 150 girls enthusiastically participated in the camp held at Government Gandhi College, Mihona. Registrations for learning driving licenses were completed for all participants. Deepak Bhadauria, Computer Operator from the District Transport Department, provided detailed information about the registration process to the girls.

He also informed them about the driving test procedure subsequent to obtaining a learning license. More than 40 girls successfully passed their driving tests at the camp and were immediately issued their learning licenses.

A Commendable Initiative for Women's Empowerment

Mahendra Singh Amb, District Program Officer, and Rajendra Soni, District Transport Officer, lauded this initiative as highly commendable for women's empowerment. They expressed that this will not only empower girls but also increase the rate of driving license registration for the female population in the state.

Both departments committed to continuing their work towards women's empowerment through similar camps in the future. Dharam Singh, Principal of the college, and Dr. Abhishek Tiwari, Program Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS), appreciated the efforts of the Transport and Women and Child Development Departments, assuring full cooperation from the college for organizing such awareness camps in the future.

Crucial Information Provided to Girls

In the next phase of the program, under 'Mission Vatsalya,' girls received vital information about the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act. They were educated on the process of filing complaints on the POCSO e-Box portal.

Additionally, detailed information was provided regarding Child Helpline 1098, other helplines related to women and children, Cyber Crime Helpline 1930, and Emergency Service 112. Information about the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act was also shared, and at the end of the program, all girls and staff present took an oath to refrain from child marriage.
