Ceiling Collapse Triggers Alarm at District Hospital
Panic erupted at the Bhind District Hospital's dialysis ward on October 30, 2026, when the ceiling suddenly collapsed. The incident immediately drew the attention of the district administration.
Considering the gravity of the situation, Collector Pawan Jain has ordered Additional Collector Rajan B. Nadia, along with the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Tehsildar, to visit the site and conduct a detailed investigation. This incident is a serious concern for the hospital, as maintaining safety standards in a critical facility like the dialysis ward is paramount.
Safety Measures and Patient Relocation
Fortunately, preliminary reports indicate that no patients or hospital staff sustained any physical injuries in the accident. The hospital management has confirmed everyone's safety and that the situation is under control.
In light of safety concerns, the Collector has directed the Chief Medical and Health Officer and the Civil Surgeon to immediately shift the dialysis ward to a safe location. This is to ensure patients do not face any inconvenience or danger, with instructions to move them to alternative arrangements as soon as possible.
He emphasized the need to pay special attention to the safety of the hospital building and carry out necessary repair work to prevent recurrence of such incidents. This could include regular safety audits and structural assessments to ascertain the building's overall condition and address any potential deficiencies promptly.
Additional Collector Assesses the Situation
Additional Collector Rajan B. Nadia, accompanied by his team, visited the district hospital and meticulously inspected the site of the incident. He examined the area where the ceiling collapsed and gathered detailed information about the event by speaking with patients and hospital management.
Due to the administration's prompt action, the process of shifting admitted patients from the ward to other locations has already commenced. This step underscores the priority placed on ensuring patient safety above all else. The hospital management is now working towards ensuring the structural integrity of the building, so that patient treatment remains uninterrupted.
