Residents of Harraiya Satgharwa Protest Dilapidated Road

Residents in the Harraiya Satgharwa development block of Balrampur district are facing significant hardships due to a road that has been in disrepair for over a decade. The brick-paved route, approximately twenty-five years old, connecting Gram Bhagta via Rehra to Shankarnagar Bazaar, has completely deteriorated.

Deep potholes have made travel on the road exceedingly difficult, causing considerable inconvenience to local residents. The road's poor condition is so severe that during emergencies, patients must be carried on cots to the main road, as ambulances cannot reach the village.

Paving this route is expected to bring relief to approximately 10,000 residents. Local residents and students have been raising this demand for a long time, but their issue remains unresolved.

Severe Transportation Woes for Villagers

Villagers report daily struggles due to the road's dilapidated state. The situation becomes particularly dire during the monsoon season, when traversing the road is nearly impossible.

Under the leadership of former Member of Parliament candidate Yugal Kishore Shukla Advocate, local residents have staged a strong protest regarding this issue. The protestors have appealed to the District Magistrate to immediately commence the paving of the road.

Neglect by Representatives and Administration

Gram Pradhan representative Vijay Kumar Verma stated that multiple petitions have been submitted to the concerned elected representatives regarding road construction, but no attention has been given.

During a recent meeting at the residence of young social activist Ansh Tiwari in Rehra village, villagers voiced their grievances. A complaint has also been registered on the Chief Minister's Public Hearing Portal regarding this serious issue, with reference number 40018226023826.

A large number of villagers participated in the protest, including Vijay Verma, Ansh Tiwari, Gajendra Tiwari, Satya Ram, Prem Narayan, Dharmendra Kumar Verma, Badlu Ram, Ram Naresh, Arif Khan, Sanjay Kumar, Amar Bahadur, and Nan Bachche. All have urged the district administration to prioritize public interest and expedite the construction of a paved road.

Villagers warn that they will face immense difficulties if the road construction is not completed soon. The administration is expected to take positive action in this matter and provide the residents with a permanent solution to their decade-old transportation problem.
