Adulterated Paneer Seized in Garoth, Dairy Sealed, Operator Arrested
The Cliff News | November 5, 2026
A case of endangering public health for profit has surfaced in Garoth, Madhya Pradesh. A joint team of revenue and food departments conducted a raid on Local Atmaram's Dairy, seizing 53 kilograms of suspicious and substandard paneer.
Initial investigations suggest this paneer was procured from Pachpahar in Rajasthan. Following the action, which took place in the presence of SDM Rahul Chauhan and Station In-charge Balveer Singh Yadav, the dairy has been sealed. Food Safety Officer Dhirendra Singh Jadon has sent samples of the seized paneer to the laboratory for testing.
A case has been registered against the shop operator, Atmaram, under Section 151 of the Indian Penal Code. He has been arrested and sent to jail. Further legal action under the Food Safety Act will be taken after the investigation report is received.
Sixth Action Against Adulteration in the Region
This incident highlights the serious problem of adulteration in milk and milk products in the Garoth region. This is the sixth instance in the past five months where the administration has had to take strict action against such adulteration.
Previously, actions have been taken in areas like Chachavada Pathari, Bardiya, Amra, Kotda Bujurg, Dungerkhedi, and Barkheda Ambekha after adulteration was found in milk products. These recurring incidents are raising questions about the local surveillance system.
Strong Blow Needed Against Adulteration Network
Products like milk and paneer are widely used not only in homes but also in hotels and sweet shops. The presence of adulterated products in the market poses a serious threat to the health of a large population.
A significant challenge for the administration is to trace the supply chain of this suspicious paneer and identify the markets or shops to which it is being distributed. Merely sealing one dairy and arresting the operator is not a permanent solution.
To ensure the safety of public health, it is crucial to expose and dismantle this entire adulteration network. Local citizens are now expecting the administration to implement a concrete and effective action plan to ensure the availability of pure food items.
