Service Commitment Campaign Sees 23 Units of Blood Donated in Mirganj
In commemoration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's completion of 25 years in public life, a special 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' (Service Commitment Campaign) has been underway across the district since September 17, 2026. As part of this initiative, the Health Department organized a voluntary blood donation camp at the Mirganj Community Health Center in Bareilly.
The event, deemed a significant step towards public service in the region, was formally inaugurated by Mirganj MLA, Dr. DC Verma. He highlighted the importance of blood donation, stating it is an act that can directly save a person's life. The MLA encouraged the volunteers and praised their selfless spirit.
The camp commenced with the first donation by the Medical Superintendent of the Community Health Center, Dr. Vaibhav Rathore, inspiring others to participate. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nidhi Shukla addressed the attendees, calling blood donation a 'great donation' as it can prove to be a life-saving boon for those in dire need.
“Blood donation is called a great donation because it can prove to be a life-saving boon for someone who needs it most. Such events strengthen the spirit of service in society. Blood donation does not cause weakness; rather, it offers a precious opportunity to save a life.”
A total of 23 donors voluntarily contributed to this noble cause, demonstrating the commitment of individuals willing to help others selflessly. The successful execution of the program was significantly aided by the presence and efforts of health workers and volunteers, including Dr. Amit Kumar Dinkar (District Blood Bank In-charge), Manoj Sharma, Dr. Sanjeev, Dr. Mukesh, Vivek Dixit, Azim, and Santram.
BJP District President Sompal Sharma was also present and expressed satisfaction with the campaign's success. The event showcased excellent coordination between health personnel and administrative officials, crucial for the smooth running of such activities. This camp not only ensured blood availability but also played a vital role in spreading awareness about blood donation within the community.
