Workshop Highlights Emerging Drone Technology for Rural Youth

A significant training workshop was organized in Bargaon, Madhya Pradesh, with the objective of introducing students to modern drone technology. The workshop was conducted at Narmadanchal Vidyapeeth by the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design & Manufacturing (IIITDM), Jabalpur.

The primary aim of this initiative was to make the youth aware of emerging technologies and their practical applications. The workshop was led by Dr. Mukesh Rai, Professor and Dean of the Physics Department at IIITDM Jabalpur. He highlighted the growing importance of drone technology in various sectors.

Dr. Rai explained how drones are now playing a crucial role in key areas such as agriculture, disaster management, environmental monitoring, defense, logistics, and scientific research. He encouraged students to develop scientific curiosity and explore innovation-based career opportunities.

Hands-on Demonstration of Drone Components and Functionality

Dr. Akshay Pandey, Professor of Computer Science and in-charge of Aero Fabrication at IIITDM Jabalpur, conducted an interactive session on drone technology. During this session, he provided detailed information about the various components of drones, their design, functionality, manufacturing process, and their practical uses on the ground.

Members of the Aero Fabrication team – Apurva Verma, Ritik Rai, Abhinav Goyal, and Mohit Dev – actively collaborated in technical demonstrations and practical activities. This provided students with an opportunity to understand drone operation and manufacturing up close.

Student Engagement and Appreciation

Students participating in the workshop showed deep interest in the event and interacted openly with the experts. They expressed that such programs not only helped them understand the utility of modern technology but also informed them about the extensive opportunities available in higher education, research, and engineering.

The Principal of Narmadanchal Vidyapeeth warmly welcomed the entire team from IIITDM Jabalpur and expressed gratitude for the successful organization of the workshop. She particularly appreciated this initiative as a crucial step in bringing advanced technical knowledge to students from rural backgrounds and inspiring them to excel in science, technology, and innovation.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks in the presence of teachers and school staff, signaling the continuation of such events in the future.
