Rajkumar, a car mechanic by profession, had reportedly been involved in a dispute over auto fare. Seeking help and refuge, he reached the Pink Booth located in Sanjaynagar Sector-23. However, his pleas for aid allegedly went unanswered.

Witnesses claim the main gate of the Pink Booth was locked, and the female police personnel inside refused to open it, despite Rajkumar's desperate calls for help. In his distress, the young man reportedly struck the booth's glass door.
