Man Dies After Brawl, Family Protests Outside Police Station
Narsinghgarh | November 2, 2026. A 45-year-old man, Pappu Kushwaha, who was injured in a brawl that occurred on the night of October 28 in Shankerpura Gadia village, approximately five kilometers from Narsinghgarh, has died during treatment in Bhopal. Following this incident, the deceased's family and villagers, in protest, surrounded the Narsinghgarh police station, creating a tense situation.
Preliminary information suggests the dispute began with allegations of molestation. After the incident, Pappu Kushwaha reportedly consumed a poisonous substance. He was immediately taken to the local Narsinghgarh hospital for initial treatment, but due to his critical condition, he was referred to Bhopal. His death during treatment in Bhopal has caused deep grief and outrage among his family members.
Station Siege and Protest
Carrying the body of the deceased, Pappu Kushwaha, his family and a large number of villagers arrived at the Narsinghgarh police station. They placed the body at the main entrance of the station, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused, and laid siege to the station for approximately two hours.
During this time, the family registered their strong protest against the police and demanded swift action against the five accused involved in the incident. To control the situation, additional police forces were summoned to the scene from Narsinghgarh, as well as from Biaora, Malawar, and Kuwar police stations.
SDOP Ramsaneh Chauhan, Tehsildar Annarik Kanotiya, and Station House Officer Guja Solanki arrived at the scene and attempted to pacify the agitated crowd.
Protest Ends After Assurances
Administrative officials assured the family patience and a fair investigation into the matter. They informed that a case has been registered against five individuals concerning the incident and their arrest will be ensured.
Following the concrete assurances provided by the officials, the family calmed down and took the body back to their home, where the final rites were later performed. The police administration has made additional security arrangements in the village to maintain peace and is continuously monitoring the situation.
The administration has been on high alert since this development to prevent any untoward incident.
