UP Backward Classes Commission Holds Public Hearings in Balrampur, Seeks Suggestions on Reservation

The Uttar Pradesh State Local Rural Bodies Dedicated Backward Classes Commission, led by Chairman Justice Ram Autar Singh and members Brijesh Kumar, Santosh Kumar Vishwakarma, Dr. Arvind Kumar Chaurasia, and S.P. Singh, concluded their visit to the district of Balrampur. During their visit, the commission reviewed the status of reservation for backward classes in rural areas and collected suggestions from local representatives and citizens.

Consultations in Tulsipur Dehat

In the first phase of their district visit, the commission organized a meeting and public hearing in the village of Tulsipur Dehat, under the Tulsipur development block. Here, the commission members directly engaged with local representatives and villagers. The primary focus of the discussions revolved around the social, economic, and educational conditions in rural areas.

The commission specifically evaluated the economic and educational status of various communities and solicited the views and suggestions of representatives and relevant parties on different aspects of backward class reservation in local rural bodies. This consultation aimed to gather comprehensive feedback to inform policy decisions.

Detailed Dialogue at the Collectorate

Following the public hearing in Tulsipur Dehat, the commission's chairman and members proceeded to the Collectorate auditorium for another meeting and public hearing. This session saw the presence of several local representatives, including Zila Panchayat Chairperson Aarti Tiwari, Block Pramukhs from various development blocks, Zila Panchayat members, Gram Pradhans, and Kshetra Panchayat members.

During the meeting at the Collectorate auditorium, the commission held detailed discussions with the attendees regarding the current economic, social, and educational conditions of various communities residing in rural areas. Various points related to the representation of backward classes in rural bodies were also deliberated upon. The commission sought suggestions and opinions from the representatives concerning the reservation for backward classes in local rural bodies.

Representatives presented significant suggestions to the commission based on the specific local circumstances and experiences of their respective areas. These suggestions were carefully heard and recorded by the commission. Key development officer Himanshu Gupta, Deputy Commissioner MNREGA, Project Director DRDA, along with other concerned officials and staff, were also present during this meeting and public hearing, providing the commission with necessary information and support.
