Traffic Awareness Program at St. John's School

An important traffic awareness program was organized today, August 8, 2026, for students and school staff at St. John's School in Damoh district. The program was led by Traffic Police Station In-charge Shri Dalbir Singh Marko, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shri Anand Kaladgi (IPS) and Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Sujit Singh Bhadauria.

The primary objective of this event, which saw participation from approximately 1100 students, was to educate them about road safety. The Traffic Police Station In-charge provided students with detailed information on safe traffic practices and road safety rules, including the importance of traffic signals and safe methods of navigating roads.

Emphasis on Road Safety Rules

Special emphasis was placed on discouraging minors from driving vehicles and on the precautions to be taken while crossing roads. Students were educated on various aspects of road safety, ensuring they understood the critical nature of these rules in their daily lives.

Shared Responsibility for Road Safety

During the program, students were made to understand that road safety is not solely the responsibility of the traffic police but a collective duty of every citizen. Students were urged to not only follow traffic rules themselves but also to inspire their family members, friends, and acquaintances to adhere to these regulations.

This message underscored the significance of shared responsibility in maintaining safe roads and reducing accidents. The initiative aimed to foster a sense of community ownership towards road safety.

'Rahgir Yojana' for Accident Victim Assistance

Another key aspect of the program was providing information about the 'Rahgir Yojana'. Attending students and school staff were informed about the critical importance of timely assistance to individuals injured in road accidents and ensuring their prompt transfer to a hospital.

They were advised that in the event of an accident, instead of panicking, individuals should immediately contact for proper assistance and inform the police or emergency services. This initiative aims to empower citizens to act responsibly in critical situations.

Distribution of Informative Materials and Pledge

At the conclusion of the program, attendees were distributed pamphlets containing information on traffic rules and road safety. Everyone present took a pledge to strictly adhere to traffic regulations, mandatorily use helmets and seat belts, and to remain aware of road safety themselves while also creating awareness among others.

Traffic police staff, school management, and teachers were also present during this event, collaborating with students to share the message of awareness and safety.
