Main Accused Injured, Arrested After Encounter
In the case of the brutal murder of Sanjay Saxena, who was returning from the Dussehra fair in the Subhashnagar police station area of Bareilly, police have arrested the main accused, Rajesh Gurjar, in an injured state following an encounter. According to police, the accused was shot in the leg during the exchange of fire near a temple by the Ramganga river on Sunday, October 25.

Old Grudge Fuels Murder Motive
The police team, led by Station House Officer Satish Kumar Nain, provided detailed information about the incident. They stated that on the night of October 22, Sanjay Saxena was returning home with a companion on a scooter. Near Holi Chowk in Shanti Vihar, some individuals stopped them and brutally attacked them with sticks and rods, leading to Sanjay Saxena's death.
The police registered a case based on the complaint filed by the deceased's sister, Sakshi. Preliminary interrogations revealed that the attack was the result of an old animosity. The arrested accused confessed that they held a grudge against Sanjay Saxena due to previous altercations and carried out the attack as he was returning from the Dussehra fair.
