Rescuer Bitten by Cobra

In Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh, snake rescuer Akshay Kumar, known for his extensive efforts in saving snakes, was bitten by a cobra. The incident occurred on Monday night in Mawai village while he was securing a five-foot-long cobra into his motorcycle's storage compartment.

A Dedicated Rescuer

Akshay Kumar, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, Kabrai, has safely rescued and saved the lives of over 15,000 snakes in the past fourteen years. On Monday, he rushed to a location after receiving a report of a snake sighting.

Accidental Bite During Rescue

While hastily retrieving a torch, Akshay Kumar inadvertently reached into the compartment, leading to the cobra escaping its bag and biting his thumb. Despite the bite, he bravely secured the snake back into its bag before immediately proceeding to the Community Health Centre in Kabrai.

Treatment and Condition

At the health centre, doctors administered approximately ten anti-venom injections. When his condition did not improve as expected, he was referred to the District Hospital. Akshay Kumar is currently undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, and his condition has been reported as stable.

Lessons in Caution

This incident underscores the critical importance of extreme care and vigilance during rescue operations. Akshay Kumar's courage and dedication to snakes have become a topic of discussion in the region, with many wishing him a speedy recovery. This minor oversight during a rescue could have had severe consequences.
