Flawed Road Repair Work Causes Concern

Mahooba is witnessing a blatant disregard for government directives aimed at making roads pothole-free. The ongoing road repair work on the Ajnar-Belatal and Ajnar-Magraul routes is marked by severe negligence, causing significant inconvenience to local residents and commuters.

Allegations suggest that the repair work is merely a perfunctory exercise, with a majority of potholes left unrepaired. Locals report that on the Ajnar-Belatal route near Nanhi Magraul and on the Ajnar-Magraul route near the Degree College, the ongoing repairs are critically flawed.

Potholes Persist, Safety Compromised

Only 20 to 30 percent of the total potholes have been filled, while the remaining large ones remain untouched. This situation casts a shadow over the administration's goal of achieving pothole-free roads within the stipulated timeframe.

The pace and manner of these repairs suggest that improving road conditions within the set deadline is highly unlikely. The existing potholes are not only causing travel difficulties but also pose a significant accident risk, especially for two-wheeler riders.

These deep potholes on the roads continue to endanger the public, while the administrative machinery appears indifferent to the situation. The roads are posing a constant threat to citizens, a danger the authorities seem to be ignoring.

Demand for Investigation and Action

Regional residents have questioned the quality of the road repair work and are demanding an impartial investigation. They attribute the public's suffering to a lack of oversight by the concerned department and the arbitrary actions of contractors.

Local residents are also urging responsible officials to visit the site, assess the situation, and ensure that all potholes are properly filled to make the roads safe. If such formalities continue, no significant improvement in road conditions can be expected, and the troubles of citizens will only escalate.
