Teachers Submit Memorandum Demanding Service Security and Better Salary

Balrampur | September 16, 2026. Self-financed teachers working in grant-in-aid colleges in Balrampur submitted a formal memorandum to senior officials of the National Educational Federation on Wednesday, demanding the immediate resolution of their pending service-related issues.

The teachers primarily highlighted their demands for respectable salaries, service security, and regularization as their top priorities. This memorandum addresses the problems of approximately 3000 teachers working in 331 grant-in-aid colleges across the state, who have been serving under a 'dual system' for the past 25 years.

These teachers state that they have been awaiting regularization or appropriate remuneration for the last nine years. The memorandum urges the Chief Minister to provide teachers with respectable salaries for their livelihood and stability in service.

Key Demands for Service and Salary Outlined

The teachers clarified that the benefits of the currently provided cashless medical scheme are insufficient until a permanent solution is found for their fundamental service-related problems. They argue that they have been fulfilling their responsibilities in the colleges with complete honesty and dedication for a long time, yet they are still waiting for stability in their service.

Dr. K. P. Mishra, a senior member of the National Educational Federation, emphasized that the experience and dedication of these teachers are no less than that of any permanent faculty member, yet they are working in an environment of uncertainty.

'This double standard is an injustice to these dedicated teachers. They should receive the same rights and security as regular employees.'

Nine Years of Waiting for Regularization

The most significant concern for these self-financed teachers is regularization, a demand they have been raising for the past nine years. They state that the government is not taking any concrete decisions on this matter, which has further increased their future uncertainty.

Dr. Pankaj Gupta and Dr. Dinesh Tripathi pointed out that merely providing medical facilities is not enough; it is the government's moral duty to ensure their economic security and continuity of service.

Expectation of Swift Decision from Government

While submitting the memorandum to Dr. Mahendra Kumar, Senior Vice President of the National Educational Federation, the teachers urged the government to seriously consider their economic and service-related problems. Several other teachers were present on this occasion, including Prof. S. P. Mishra, President of the Maa Patshwari University Educational Federation unit, Dr. S. K. Tripathi, Dr. Rajan Singh, Dr. Sunil Kumar Shukla, and Dr. Archana Shukla.

The teachers expressed hope that the administration will make a positive decision on their demands soon, which will also improve the academic environment in the colleges and allow teachers to work with greater dedication.
