Preparations Underway for 2026-27 Sports Events in Balrampur

A crucial meeting was held at the DIET hall in Balrampur to finalize preparations for district and divisional level sports competitions for the 2026-27 academic session. The meeting, conducted in compliance with directives from the Uttar Pradesh Education Director's office, was presided over by District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Mridula Anand.

Schools Entrusted with Hosting Responsibilities

Discussions focused on the successful and timely organization of competitions under the aegis of the School Games Federation of India and the Secondary Education Department. Various secondary schools in the district have been assigned the responsibility for organizing different sports events, along with the allocation of specific programs.

Mandatory Participation and Encouraging Sportsmanship

It was mandated that, as per government instructions, every school must participate in at least two sports without fail. This decision aims to foster sportsmanship among students and encourage their active participation in diverse sporting disciplines.

Allocation of Sports Events to Schools

During the district sports committee meeting, several key decisions were made regarding the allocation of sports events. Specific schools have been selected to host various games:

Divisional Level Competitions Also Allocated

In addition to district-level events, allocations for various divisional sports competitions have also been made. These include football, athletics, kabaddi, kho-kho, wrestling, and others. MPP Inter College will be a primary venue for both district and divisional athletics competitions.

Formation of Judging Committee for Efficient Execution

Along with the formation of the district sports committee, ten physical education teachers from the district have been assigned the crucial responsibility of actively participating in and conducting the sports events. These teachers have also been directed to ensure the orderly conduct of divisional-level sports competitions as per regulations.

DIOS Anand Expresses Satisfaction with Progress

District Inspector of Schools Mridula Anand expressed her pleasure, noting the continuous improvement in the standard of school sports within the district. She proudly mentioned that in the 2025 session, two students participated in national-level sports competitions, and four teachers served as coaches and managers for the first time, a moment of pride for the district.

“The responsibility for the successful organization of all games at the divisional level has been entrusted to the District Sports Committee. To ensure impartial and fair execution of these events, a judging committee of ten expert physical education teachers has been formed. This committee will be led by District Sports Secretary Mohd. Suhail.”

These physical education teachers will be present at the sports venues during district and divisional competitions to fulfill their duties. Principals and sports teachers of the concerned schools have been assigned necessary responsibilities to ensure all programs are conducted smoothly.

Importance of Sports for Holistic Student Development

District Inspector of Schools Mridula Anand emphasized that sports activities are a vital medium for the holistic development of students. She instructed all organizing schools to conduct timely, transparent, and quality competitions.

Furthermore, it was directed that all documents related to the results of conducted games and selected players must be submitted to the office within two days of the event. This is to ensure that players have timely opportunities to participate in the next level of competitions and showcase their talent effectively.

 

Financial Report and Participation Details Presented

During the meeting, District Sports Secretary Mohd. Suhail presented a detailed report of the previous year's events and the income-expenditure accounts. He stated that the entire expenditure for the participation of two players and four teachers at the state and national levels was borne by the district fund.

Present at the meeting were District Sports Treasurer Kumesh Kumar Saroj, Principal of Government Inter College Dr. Chandan Pandey, along with Sadhna Pandey, Rita Chaudhary, Mujeebul Hasan, Aseem, Hafeezur Rehman, Annapurna Devi, Ram Shankar Yadav, V.K. Shukla, Abhay Shankar, and principals and physical education teachers from dozens of other schools including Naseem Ahmed, Rajesh Srivastava, Umesh Kumar, Abhay, Naveen Pal, Saeed Ahmed, Madan Lal, Pankaj Pandey, Prashant Singh, Nanhe Prasad, Rashmi Singh, Anshu Verma, Smriti Pathak, Anjum Shakeel, Arpan Pandey, Umesh Tiwari, and others.
