All Seven Accused Arrested in Guna Robbery and Attempted Rape Case

Guna | August 4, 2026 | In a swift action following a serious incident on the night of July 30 in Guna district, police have arrested the remaining two absconding accused in a case of robbery and attempted rape. With this arrest, all seven individuals involved in the incident are now in police custody. The stolen motorcycle has also been recovered.

Incident Details and Police Action

The incident occurred near Gaderghati on AB Road. According to reports, on the night of July 30, 2026, a young man and woman were returning on a motorcycle after visiting a religious site. Near the Reliance petrol pump on the highway, some miscreants stopped them and dragged them into the nearby jungle.

There, they summoned their accomplices and, after assaulting the couple, robbed them of their motorcycle, mobile phones, purse, and other belongings. Additionally, an attempt was made to gang-rape the woman. Given the sensitivity of the case and the urgency of the police response, Superintendent of Police Hitika Vasal issued immediate directives for action. She ordered the formation of separate police teams to identify and arrest the accused.

Special Investigation Team Formed and Initial Arrests

Under the leadership of SDOPI Raghav, Smt. Deepa Dodve, a special investigation team was formed. This team commenced the search for the accused based on technical and physical evidence. Within 24 hours of the incident, police teams, through swift and well-planned action, arrested five accused: Babloo Banjara, Chotu Banjara, Sardar Banjara, Mahendra Banjara, and Dinesh Banjara.

Absconding Accused Apprehended, Stolen Property Recovered

Following this, continuous raids and search operations were conducted at potential hideouts to apprehend the remaining absconding accused. On August 3, 2026, both absconding accused, Sonu son of Vijay Singh Banjara and Jeetu son of Kaniram Banjara, residents of village Borkheda, police station Dharnavada, district Guna, were also arrested. Based on the accused's revelations, the police recovered and duly seized the motorcycle stolen during the incident.

Guna Police demonstrated remarkable alacrity and professional efficiency in this heinous crime, arresting all seven accused within just four days of the incident. They also succeeded in recovering the stolen motorcycle, mobile phones, and all other looted items. This success is attributed to the police's prompt action, technical investigation, and intensive field efforts.
