Panchal Ghat to be Equipped with Modern Facilities
Panchal Ghat, a significant religious site located in the Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh, will now be equipped with modern amenities. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has greenlit a major project exceeding ₹4.91 crore for the comprehensive tourism development of this prominent location.
The ambitious project will be implemented by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation. Local MLA Major Sunil Dutt Dwivedi performed the groundbreaking ceremony for this development project at Panchal Ghat on July 16, 2026, following all religious rituals. This marks the formal commencement of these development initiatives aimed at boosting tourism in the region.
Construction of New Infrastructure
Under this project, several new structures will be constructed at Panchal Ghat to facilitate devotees and tourists. The plan includes the construction of a grand gateway, a multipurpose hall, modern toilet blocks, changing rooms, and a mother-feeding room. Additionally, souvenir shops and portable stalls will be arranged for visitors to purchase memorabilia.
The project also places a special emphasis on the beautification and security of the premises. Lighting will be ensured through the installation of solar lights, and adequate drinking water facilities will be provided. Works such as interlocking, horticulture, chain fencing, and wall murals will be undertaken within the complex, giving the ghat a new and attractive appearance.
Boost for Religious Tourism
Project Manager C.K. Chaturvedi, while presenting a detailed account of the proposed development works, stated that the construction of these facilities will provide high-level amenities to tourists and devotees visiting Panchal Ghat in the future. He expressed optimism that this will not only benefit local residents but also inject new momentum into religious tourism.
MLA Major Sunil Dutt Dwivedi expressed gratitude to the state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh for this gift. He stated that under their guidance, tourism development works in Farrukhabad are continuously progressing.
The local populace has also expressed happiness over the commencement of this project, terming it a significant step forward for the region's development.
