Nationwide Campaign for Cow Protection Submits Massive Petition

As part of the second phase of the nationwide 'Go Samman Aahwan Abhiyan' (Cow Respect Call Campaign), over 150 million signed petitions were submitted on Monday, July 27, 2026, to the President, Prime Minister, Governors, and Chief Ministers through District Magistrate offices across the country.

The memorandum includes over 30 key demands, such as the creation of a central law prohibiting cow slaughter, bestowing the honor of 'Rashtramata' (Mother of the Nation) upon cows, establishing a Central Ministry for Cow Welfare, and freeing grazing lands from encroachment.

Balrampur District Joins National Effort

In Balrampur district, a large number of people, including campaign district in-charge Ravindra Gupta Kamlapuri, Dr. Rakesh Chandra Srivastava, Subir Srivastava, Laddu Singh, Ajay Srivastava, Kamlesh Tripathi, Mahant Brijanand Maharaj, and Gyani Nath Maharaj, handed over the memorandum to the Additional District Magistrate (ADM).

This memorandum is part of the ongoing campaign, which has been running for the past six months, aiming to ensure the service, protection, and respect of cows.

Campaign Details and Public Support

According to campaign officials, a widespread public awareness and signature drive was conducted across the country for these demands. In the first phase, on April 27, 2026, over 50 million signed petitions were submitted through approximately 5,000 tehsils nationwide.

Due to the lack of expected decisions, reminder petitions were sent again on July 27, 2026, as part of the second phase.

Local Observances in Balrampur

In Balrampur, the 'Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram' victory mantra was collectively chanted along with the worship of cows and the blowing of conch shells at Jharkhandi Temple. Following this, cow devotees took out a peaceful and disciplined procession and submitted the memorandum to the ADM at the District Magistrate's office.

Saints, representatives of various social and religious organizations, institutional officials, women, youth, farmers, and a large number of cow devotees were present on this occasion.

Cow-Centric Approach in National Policy

The campaign's demands also include stopping the encroachment of grazing lands, formulating a central policy for cow fodder, and integrating other important issues related to agriculture, medicine, environment, education, and human life into national policy.

This campaign emphasizes the creation of cow-centric national policies, aiming to prioritize the contribution of cattle to the overall development of the nation.
