The National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Bhopal has successfully concluded a significant five-day training program focused on Outcome-Based Curriculum Development. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Nepal Engineering Council, aimed to enhance the quality of technical engineering education in Nepal by equipping faculty members with modern pedagogical approaches and curriculum design skills.

The program saw participation from faculty representing prominent Nepalese institutions, including Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Purbanchal, Far Western, and Mid Western universities. The training specifically catered to the disciplines of Computer, Software, and IT Engineering, alongside Architecture, addressing the evolving demands of the global technical landscape.

Elevating Standards through Outcome-Based Learning

During the opening session, NITTTR Director Dr. C. C. Tripathi emphasized the critical need to transition towards an outcome-oriented teaching and learning framework. He highlighted that adopting such advanced methodologies is essential for aligning Nepal's engineering education with the increasingly rigorous standards set by global institutions.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of special guests Er. Tek Raj Subedi and Er. Dipendra Kumar Bariyat, both esteemed representatives of the Nepal Engineering Council. Their participation underscored the council's commitment to modernizing technical education within Nepal.

Modern Methodologies and Assessment Techniques

Throughout the intensive workshop, NITTTR experts provided comprehensive instruction on contemporary teaching-learning methodologies. The faculty participants engaged in practical exercises covering the design of capstone projects, the creation of detailed assessment rubrics, and the formulation of academic questions specifically designed to cultivate higher-order thinking skills among students.

Key NITTTR experts involved in delivering the training included Dr. Sanjay Agrawal, Dr. Anju Rawalle, Dr. R. K. Kapoor, and Dr. Nishith Dubey. Their guidance equipped Nepalese educators with actionable strategies for curriculum enhancement.

Future Outlook and Partnership

Presiding over the closing ceremony, the Chairman of the Nepal Engineering Council, Prof. Padma Bahadur Shahi, lauded the collaborative effort. Professor Shahi expressed his conviction that the training would be instrumental in the widespread implementation of outcome-based systems across Nepal, a crucial step towards bolstering the nation's technical education sector and its international competitiveness.

This successful training program marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing partnership between NITTTR and the Nepal Engineering Council, reinforcing their shared vision of modernizing engineering curricula and ensuring that Nepalese graduates are well-prepared for the demands of the global workforce.
