Police Intensify Action on Warrants in Bareilly
The Bareilly district police have successfully executed 341 non-bailable warrants as part of a special campaign to strengthen law and order and ensure effective compliance with court orders. This intensive seven-day operation, held from October 25 to October 31, 2026, was conducted under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya.
The primary objective of this campaign was to serve the non-bailable warrants issued by the courts that were previously pending. As a result of the police's tireless efforts, a total of 167 warrant absconders were arrested during this period. Additionally, 88 warrant absconders voluntarily appeared before the court and had their warrants recalled.
During the process, it was also ascertained that 90 of the warrant absconders were deceased, while 26 were found to be already incarcerated in various jails.
Stations with Outstanding Performance Honored
SSP Anurag Arya felicitated nine Station House Officers (SHOs) for their commendable performance in this special operation, presenting them with commendation letters. These SHOs represented the Prem Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Devrania, Shishgarh, Shergarh, Nawabganj, Fatehhganj Paschimi, Aonla, and Bhamora police stations. This recognition aims to boost their morale and inspire similar effective actions in the future.
Nine SHOs Warned for Negligence
Conversely, the SSP adopted a strict stance against nine Station House Officers who failed to take adequate action. Warnings have been issued to the SHOs of Kotwali, Cantt, Izatnagar, Mahila Thana, Hafizganj, Bhojpur, Aliganj, Bisartganj, and Sirothi stations. SSP Arya emphasized that serving arrest warrants issued by the court is the primary responsibility of the police, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
Giving the underperforming SHOs an opportunity to improve, they have been instructed to conduct another special campaign to dispose of pending warrants within the next week. This initiative by the police department underscores its commitment to court orders and its seriousness towards public safety.
