Inauguration of 'Traffic Month' in Bareilly

Bareilly officially launched the 'Traffic Month November-2026' on Monday, with the primary objective of effectively curbing road accidents and raising public awareness about traffic regulations. Throughout November, the district will host various road safety programs aimed at ensuring secure and smooth traffic management and minimizing the rate of road accidents.

Key Figures and Inauguration Ceremony

The main event was held at the Ravindra-alaya in Police Line, attended by the Additional Director General of Police, Bareilly Zone, as the chief guest. He flagged off a traffic awareness rally that traversed various major routes across the city. Several administrative and police officials were present, including the Senior Superintendent of Police, SP City, SP South, SP Traffic, ADM City, SDM Sadar, and City Magistrate.

Citizen Pledge for Road Safety Rules

Representatives from the Industry and Commerce Council, various social organizations, bus and taxi unions, along with NCC cadets and school students, actively participated in the program. Officials emphasized the importance of traffic rules, describing road safety as a collective responsibility. They instructed two-wheeler riders to wear helmets and four-wheeler drivers to use seat belts mandatorily. Efforts will be made to ensure every citizen adheres to these rules to reduce road accidents.

Extensive Safety Programs Throughout November

During the event, a strong message was conveyed about adhering to speed limits, refraining from mobile phone use while driving, and avoiding driving under the influence of alcohol. Various mediums will be utilized to disseminate these messages to the public. A flag march was followed by a bike rally that commenced from the Police Line, proceeded through the Mini Bypass and Thana Izzatnagar, and concluded at Delapir. Additionally, NCC cadets and students conducted a foot rally to inspire safe driving practices.

Sustained Awareness Campaign

The objective of these rallies is not only to enforce rules but also to foster a positive attitude towards safety among people. This awareness campaign will continue throughout November, featuring programs such as street plays, workshops, and public dialogues. The aim is to ensure the message of road safety reaches every segment of society and to bring down the accident rate.
