Narsinghgarh Police Seize Rs 3.40 Lakh Worth Contraband in Anti-Drug Drive

Major Action Against Drugs by Narsinghgarh Police, Contraband Worth Rs 3.40 Lakh Seized

In a significant crackdown under the 'Anti-Drug Campaign 2.0' initiative, directed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and ongoing across the state, Narsinghgarh Police in Rajgarh district have made a substantial seizure. The operation successfully intercepted the smuggling of illicit liquor, resulting in the confiscation of approximately Rs 3.40 lakh worth of contraband.

The campaign is being conducted under the strict supervision of Rajgarh Superintendent of Police, Shri Amit Tolani (IPS), with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police, Shri K.L. Banjare, and continuous oversight from Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) Biaora, Shri Prakash Sharma. In line with this, the Narsinghgarh Police Station has registered a case under crime number 451/2026, Section 34(2) of the Excise Act, for the effective action against the transportation of illegal liquor.

Interception of Illegal Liquor Transport

This operation took place on July 31, 2026, near the passenger waiting shed opposite Chidihkho Gate in the Devgarh Narsinghgarh area. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a white Maruti Estilo car bearing registration number MP 04 CF 6477.

During the search, the police discovered that the accused, Gabbar alias Gulab Singh, son of Premsingh Rajput, a resident of Baradwari, Narsinghgarh, was illegally transporting English and local liquor in the car.

Details of Seized Material

The police seized a total of 14 cases (126 liters) of English and local liquor, estimated to be worth ₹85,000. In addition, the Maruti Estilo car, valued at ₹2,50,000, and a Realme mobile phone worth ₹5,000 were also confiscated. Thus, the total value of the seized contraband amounted to ₹3,40,000.

Efforts to Apprehend Accused Underway

However, the main accused in this case, Gabbar alias Gulab Singh, managed to escape from the scene. Police teams are making continuous efforts to apprehend him. The case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Rajgarh Police have also appealed to the public to immediately report any information regarding illegal liquor, narcotics, or any drug-related activities to their nearest police station. The police have assured that this campaign against drugs will continue with the same effectiveness.
