Narmadapuram Old Vegetable Market to Undergo Modernization, Small Vendors to Get New Location

Modernization of Old Vegetable Market Planned

The old vegetable market in Narmadapuram is poised to receive a new and modern look. Under a project by the Municipal Council (Napa), small vendors operating roadside fruit and vegetable businesses will be relocated to a new, well-equipped market.

This initiative aims to provide these vendors with better opportunities to expand their businesses and also boost the Municipal Council's revenue. On Tuesday, Municipal Council President Neetu Mahendra Yadav personally inspected wards 3 and 4, including the old vegetable market area.

During the inspection, she directed the concerned officials to complete the essential basic amenities and other arrangements within the stipulated timeframe. She emphasized that traders should not face any inconvenience to ensure a smooth transition.

Focus on Modernization and Arrangement

Present during the inspection were Deputy Engineer Reena Gupta, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Nodal Officer and Sanitation Inspector Anurag Tiwari, Councillor representative for Ward 03, Poonam Meshkar, and representative for Ward 04, Ajay Saini.

Deputy Engineer Reena Gupta reported that immediately following the Municipal Council President's directives, filling work has been completed in areas prone to waterlogging. This step is crucial in mitigating the difficulties faced by vendors during the monsoon season.

This modernization project is expected to provide organized spaces for small fruit and vegetable vendors who currently operate temporarily along the roadsides. The facilities in the new market will offer a more conducive environment, enabling them to grow their businesses and serve customers better. This move is considered a positive step for both the urban beautification of Narmadapuram and the economic upliftment of small traders.
