MP State Agricultural Marketing Board Convenes Key Virtual Meeting on Market Revenue and Arrivals

The Madhya Pradesh State Agricultural Marketing Board convened a significant virtual meeting on July 27, 2026, presided over by Managing Director Mr. Kumar Purushottam. The meeting, held from the Ministry Vallabh Bhawan, saw the participation of secretaries from 259 mandis across the state, joint directors from seven zonal offices, and board officials and employees.

The primary agenda for the meeting was to review the arrivals and revenue generated in the mandis, and to discuss new land allotment rules. During the session, clear directives were issued for the timely completion of grading and sourcing units within the mandis. This initiative is a crucial step towards enhancing the quality and organization of commodities in the markets.

Strengthening E-Mandi and Commercial Transactions

The virtual meeting also included an in-depth review of e-mandi operations and commercial transactions occurring at the farm gate. Managing Director Mr. Purushottam emphasized that all commercial transactions must be conducted exclusively through the e-mandi platform to ensure transparency and efficiency. He instructed that concrete steps be taken for the effective implementation of the e-mandi scheme.

This move is a significant stride towards providing farmers with a larger and more accessible market for their produce. The meeting also stressed the importance of launching extensive tree plantation drives, especially in anticipation of the upcoming monsoon season, underscoring the board's commitment to environmental conservation.

Target Achievement, Curbing Illegal Trade, and Audit Verification

During the meeting, instructions were given to issue show-cause notices to mandi committees that have failed to achieve 20% of their targets. This measure aims to ensure that all committees actively strive to meet their performance goals. Strict directives were also issued to maintain comprehensive control over illegal trade, thereby curbing unfair practices within the mandis. Additionally, an order was given to complete all account verification tasks within the stipulated deadlines, which will ensure transparency and accountability in financial management.

The meeting also included instructions for comprehensive reporting on the e-NAM and AGMARK NET schemes, enabling an assessment of their implementation progress and identification of necessary improvements. Present at the meeting were Additional Managing Director Mr. Anurag Saxena, Chief Engineer Mr. Madhukar Pawar, Additional Director Ms. Sangeeta Dhoke, Joint Directors SK Kumre and Nitin Kolhe, Deputy Directors Mr. Avinash Path and Mrs. Rashmi Kashyap, Assistant Directors Piyush Sharma and Yogesh Nagle, along with other officials and employees of the Mandi Board.
