Minister Govind Singh Rajput Walks Through Surkhi, Listens to Public Concerns

Minister Govind Singh Rajput, Madhya Pradesh's Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection, personally visited the Surkhi assembly constituency in Sagar district on Saturday. He walked through the streets, met with residents at their homes, and gathered feedback on development works.

In line with the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Minister Rajput sought direct input from citizens on issues related to basic amenities such as roads, drainage, drinking water, and transportation. He also immediately sought explanations from officials regarding complaints lodged.

Minister Govind Singh Rajput stated, "Surkhi is not just my constituency, it is my family. I consider the problems of my family members as my own and prioritize the development of the region." He emphasized that true development is understood by being among the people and solving their issues, rather than from an office.

Inauguration of Nagar Parishad Building and Announcement of Development Works

Minister Govind Singh Rajput also inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Surkhi Nagar Parishad. Alongside this, he announced various development works costing over ₹5 crore for the Nagar Parishad area.

These announcements, which included the ground-breaking and inauguration of several projects, are considered a significant step towards improving various fundamental facilities for the residents of the region. During his walk, Minister Rajput interacted with elders, women, youth, shopkeepers, and local citizens in different wards.

He inquired about their daily problems, particularly concerning roads, drainage, and water supply. Citizens presented their concerns and local issues, for which he issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials.

Construction of New Roads, Bridges, and Community Buildings

The development works announced by Minister Rajput include the construction of concrete (CC) roads in Wards 1 and 2, a CC road in Ward 6, and a CC road and flooring work in Ward 9. Additionally, a community building will be constructed on the first floor of the Goshala.

Concrete roads are also proposed in Wards 10 and 11. The construction of a WBM road and a bridge in Midwasa, along with CC roads and bridge construction at various locations in Wards 12 and 13, have also been announced. Wards 14 and 15 will see WBM roads, bridges, and CC roads, among other development works.

These projects are expected to alleviate problems related to mud, waterlogging, and poor road conditions during the monsoon. They will also provide better facilities for schoolchildren, farmers, patients, and daily commuters.

Development is More Than Just Big Projects; Public Amenities are the Priority

Minister Govind Singh Rajput stressed that development encompasses ensuring all essential basic facilities reach citizens, from main roads to small lanes. With this philosophy, priority is being given to works related to roads, bridges, drainage, and drinking water facilities in the Surkhi assembly constituency.

He stated that development works are truly beneficial when they positively impact the daily lives of ordinary citizens. The Minister clarified that his visit to Surkhi was not for political events or election campaigning, but to meet his family members (the public) and understand their issues.

He asserted that public trust is his greatest strength, and with this support, the pace of development in Surkhi assembly is continuously advancing. The Minister also highlighted the beautification of Surkhi as a priority, alongside development works, emphasizing that a city's organized development and aesthetic appeal are crucial.

Improved roads, bridges, community halls, welcome gates, enhanced facilities around religious sites, and clean public spaces will transform Surkhi's appearance. He instructed officials to maintain quality in construction and ensure that every project directly benefits the citizens.

While interacting with the public, Minister Rajput also emphasized the effective implementation of welfare schemes from the central and state governments. He mentioned that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is running numerous schemes for the welfare of the poor, farmers, women, youth, and disadvantaged sections, such as the PM Awas Yojana, Har Ghar Nal-Jal, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, and Kisan Samman Nidhi.

He added that the Madhya Pradesh government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is not only effectively implementing these central schemes but also accelerating public welfare and development works within the state.

Minister Govind Singh Rajput's approach of engaging directly with the public is seen as an effort to gather genuine feedback, moving beyond mere formalities. Instead of relying solely on officials' reports, he personally assessed development by walking through the streets and listened directly to citizens' problems.

He assured that this development process in Surkhi will continue, and his goal is to extend development facilities to every lane, neighborhood, and village.
