Massive Turnout for Veerudal's Birth Anniversary in Mahoba; Demand for Museum Construction Raised
On the occasion of Veerudal's birth anniversary in Mahoba, a large crowd gathered, and a demand for a modern museum was voiced.

Veerudal's Birth Anniversary Celebrated with Devotion in Mahoba
The birth anniversary of Veerudal, the great Chandel warrior of the 11th and 12th centuries, was celebrated with immense reverence and pride on the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. Despite heavy rain from the morning, a large number of Bundeli community members gathered at his memorial located in Udal Chowk.
The attendees paid floral tributes to Veerudal, remembering his immortal sagas. During the event, a prominent demand was raised for the establishment of a modern museum in Mahoba that would preserve a pictorial account of the lives of Alha and Udal, from their birth to their historical bravery and sacrifice.
Remembering the Heroic Tales of the Bundeli Society
Tara Patkar, convener of the Bundeli Samaj, stated that Veerudal was born in Disrapur village, about 10 kilometers from Mahoba, to Senapati Dakshraj and mother Devla. After his father's murder, Raja Parmal raised him. Alha and Udal avenged their father's death by defeating the kings of Mandavgadh and also achieved victory in battle against Delhi's ruler Prithviraj Chauhan.
He expanded the Chandel empire by fighting 52 battles during his lifetime. The historical victories and sacrifices have been immortalized in history through Mahakavi Jagnik's 'Aalha Khand'.
Preservation of Historical Victories and Sacrifice
Dr. Ajay Barsaiya, General Secretary, expressed concern that their relics are disappearing due to a lack of preservation. He mentioned that the victory over Prithviraj Chauhan's army on the banks of Keerat Sagar in 1182 brought Veerudal's bravery to the masses.
Ultimately, Udal attained martyrdom during a battle in Bairagarh. Many people, including Avadhesh, Pawan Gupta, Gaya Prasad, Prem Chaurasia, Manpreet Singh Arora, Pramod Shukla, Achche Lal, Mahendra, Deepu, Munna, and Ravi Soni, were present on this occasion. The glorious tradition of his victory procession remains alive even today in Mahoba's Kajli Festival.
