Madhya Pradesh attracted over ₹8,635 crore in investment proposals at an Ahmedabad summit, with expectations of creating 5,785 jobs.

Madhya Pradesh Attracts Significant Investment Proposals
The Cliff News | Bhopal | August 13, 2026 During a significant investment dialogue held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh has received investment proposals exceeding ₹8,635 crore across various industrial sectors. These proposals are anticipated to generate approximately 5,785 new employment opportunities within the state, potentially boosting the state's economy.
Chief Minister Highlights State's Industrial Potential
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav engaged with prominent industrialists and investors from Gujarat in Ahmedabad, emphasizing the state's industrial capabilities, investment-friendly policies, and developing infrastructure. Addressing investors, Dr. Yadav described Madhya Pradesh as an ideal state for industrial growth, citing ample land, abundant natural resources, skilled manpower, and excellent connectivity.
The government's priority is to ensure that investors receive necessary approvals and facilities for establishing industries in a time-bound manner, eliminating the need for them to navigate multiple government departments. To achieve this, the 'Digital Single Window' system has been further strengthened.
Cement Sector Receives Largest Investment Proposal
During the investment dialogue in Ahmedabad, companies from various sectors showed significant interest in investing in Madhya Pradesh. The largest proposal came from the cement sector, with Goldcrust Cement proposing an investment of approximately ₹3,000 crore. This investment is expected to create around 1,500 new jobs in the state. Given the rapid infrastructure, housing, and construction activities in Madhya Pradesh, the cement industry sees it as a crucial market and production hub.
Significant Investments in Packaging and Food Processing
In the packaging sector, Aegis Polyfilms presented a proposal for an investment of around ₹2,500 crore, which is expected to provide employment to approximately 1,000 people. The expansion of the packaging industry is linked to the food processing, pharmaceuticals, FMCG, and other manufacturing sectors, which can strengthen the state's industrial ecosystem.
In the food processing sector, Gujarat Ambuja Exports plans an investment of about ₹1,200 crore, potentially creating around 500 job opportunities. Madhya Pradesh, a leading agricultural state, holds immense potential for the food processing industry due to its abundance of produce like wheat, soybeans, pulses, spices, and fruits. The government aims to promote the processing, value addition, and market access of agricultural products through this investment.
Growth Prospects in Textile and Pharmaceutical Sectors
Important proposals were also received in the textile sector. Arvind Limited proposed an investment of approximately ₹1,200 crore under the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park scheme, which could provide a new direction to the state's textile sector. The objective of the PM MITRA Park is to develop an integrated industrial infrastructure for the textile industry, where activities like production, processing, and logistics will be housed within a single complex.
In the pharmaceutical sector, Iris Lifesciences announced an investment of around ₹500 crore, expected to create approximately 800 jobs. This investment in the pharma sector will not only enhance industrial production but also generate technical and skilled employment opportunities. Given the strong potential for growth in pharmaceutical and medical sector-related industries in Madhya Pradesh, this investment is particularly significant.
Additionally, Raghav Woven LLP proposed an investment of ₹250 crore in the textile sector, with the potential to create around 400 jobs.
Infrastructure Development and Digital Support
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also provided detailed information to investors about the industrial land and modern industrial parks available in the state. He stated that 48 new industrial parks, covering over 19,000 acres, are being developed in Madhya Pradesh, where necessary infrastructure will be provided to investors. The government is striving to shield industries from lengthy and complex processes for land, power, water, roads, and logistics.
The 'Plug-and-Play Zones' being developed by the state government are also becoming a center of attraction for investors. These zones offer pre-developed infrastructure for industries, enabling them to commence production quickly. The policy of providing facilities at subsidized rates along with land availability for industrial projects also plays a significant role in attracting investment.
The objective of the 'Digital Single Window System' is to make the process of establishing industries simple, transparent, and time-bound.
Geographical Advantage and Connectivity
The Chief Minister also highlighted Madhya Pradesh's strategic geographical location and connectivity. Being situated in the center of the country, the state offers easy access to markets in the north, west, south, and east. Improvements in road, rail, and air connectivity are being pursued to further accelerate the movement of industrial products.
The investment proposals received from Gujarat's industrialists are particularly important, as Gujarat is one of India's leading industrial states. Investment from Gujarat's industrial groups in Madhya Pradesh can give new momentum to trade, supply chains, and industrial cooperation between the two states.
Future Path and Challenges
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav invited investors to participate in the upcoming Global Investors Summit 2027 in Madhya Pradesh. He urged industrialists to visit Madhya Pradesh and personally observe various industrial sectors to better understand the investment potential.
If the proposals exceeding ₹8,635 crore from the Ahmedabad investment dialogue are converted into actual projects, their impact will extend beyond investment and employment, benefiting industrial production, local businesses, transportation, logistics, the service sector, and small industries. The development of ancillary units around large industries will also create new opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
However, converting investment proposals into actual investments presents a significant challenge for the government. It will be crucial to provide investors with timely land, necessary approvals, uninterrupted power, water, and other facilities. In terms of job creation, focus will be on actual hirings rather than declared numbers, and on opportunities provided to local youth.
If local youth are prioritized in the proposed projects and skill development programs are conducted for them, the social and economic impact of the investment could be even more comprehensive. Overall, the investment dialogue organized by the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in Ahmedabad is a significant indicator of growing investor confidence in the state's industrial potential. The government's responsibility now lies in translating these proposals into reality, developing industrial parks on time, and providing prompt and transparent services to investors, enabling Madhya Pradesh to write a new chapter in its industrial development journey.
