DGP Wishes New Balaghat SP Malay Jain Well, Highlights Challenges

Farewell and Felicitation Ceremony Held for New Balaghat SP

A farewell and felicitation ceremony was organized at the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters in Bhopal on November 7, 2026, to mark the new responsibility of senior police officer Shri Malay Jain as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Balaghat.

On this occasion, Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Kailash Makwana honored Shri Jain with a memento and extended his best wishes for a successful tenure in Balaghat. The DGP advised Shri Jain to make impartial decisions by adhering to the core principle of ‘Listen to everyone, do what is right’.

Praise for Shri Malay Jain's Conduct

Director General of Police Shri Makwana praised Shri Malay Jain's work behavior, noting that his honest, diligent, and controversy-free conduct was prioritized when he was selected as Staff Officer in December 2024.

As Staff Officer, Shri Jain effectively managed the regular monitoring and tracking of public grievance applications, as well as the system for promptly rewarding police personnel who performed excellently.

Balaghat's Challenges and DGP's Experience

Addressing the ceremony, DGP Shri Makwana shared his experiences from 32 years prior regarding policing in the Balaghat district. He mentioned that about three decades ago, this district was a significant and challenging area for the police.

At that time, the police force had to perform their duties amidst a lack of communication facilities, long patrols in dense forests, and serious threats like landmines. The DGP stated that police personnel discharged their duties commendably even in extremely difficult circumstances during that era.

He expressed pride that due to the continuous efforts of the police force, success has been achieved in eradicating the Naxalite problem in Balaghat today. Shri Makwana underscored the responsibility for the current SP, stating that maintaining the morale of the police force, ensuring vigilance, and sustaining existing achievements are crucial tasks.

Guidance for the New SP

Guiding the newly appointed SP Shri Malay Jain, the DGP advised the officer to patiently listen to all parties and make impartial decisions based on facts and rules. He added that making the right decisions with firmness, without succumbing to any undue pressure, while maintaining sensitivity and composure, is the mark of a good police officer.

Colleagues Share Memories with Shri Jain

During the ceremony, senior officers and staff from the Police Headquarters shared their experiences and anecdotes of working with Shri Malay Jain. Speakers specifically highlighted his positive work style, amiable demeanor, mature leadership, and the ability to lead a team collaboratively.

They noted that Shri Jain worked with patience and restraint, even in difficult situations, with a smile. Sensitively listening to the problems of the public and complainants, meeting them with ease, and being prompt in resolving their issues were significant aspects of his work style.

During his tenure in various roles at the Police Headquarters, Shri Jain made valuable contributions to important initiatives such as the Media Cell and Social Media Management, the awareness campaign against drugs 'Nasha Se Doori Hai Zaroori' (Distance from Drugs is Necessary), the cybercrime awareness campaign 'Safe Click', the exhibition of the New Criminal Code, and public grievance redressal.

Senior officers also lauded his previous tenures in the districts of Sagar, Narmadapuram, Tikamgarh, and Harda, as well as his administrative proficiency as AIG (Administration) and Deputy Director at the Police Academy.

At the end of the ceremony, officers and staff from the Police Headquarters shared memories of their time with Shri Malay Jain and wished him a bright future, good health, and a successful tenure in Balaghat.
